After a successful career in retail and commercial banking where he was responsible for lending to middle market businesses, Mr. Kimpson entered the field of law. He represents state and municipal pension funds, multi-employer plans, unions and other institutional investors in securities and merger and acquisition litigation. He also advises his clients on best practices in corporate governance.
Mr. Kimpson served as a State Senator in South Carolina for over a decade.
He is a frequent speaker on corporate governance and securities at seminars and conferences across the country, including the Public Funds Summit, the National Association of State Treasurers, the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS) and the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP). He holds a BA with a concentration in Banking and Finance from Morehouse College and a JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
